The variations of green pulled me to stop along this road. I took a photograph of this Spring scene and later created this landscape in my studio.

- Born in the Ukraine, I became a US citizen in 1957. After graduating from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, I studied at the Art Institute. My focus is landscapes in oil. Traveling through the Midwest, I take photographs, sketch and make notes that assist me back in my studio. The bright light creating 'real' faraway distance contrast with the darker foreground.Yet the distance is only

ReplyDeleteI love this broad, expansive landscape - makes me want to just take off like a bird along the variations of green into the distant pastel backgrounds and up into the dramatic blue sky!
